Anne-Laure came to San Diego at the age of 13 from a small town in France. As an alumna of Poway High School she immediately fell in love with the American school system in terms of the diversity among the students, the school spirit and the importance of sports in the curriculum. In 2008 she graduated from California State University Long Beach with a bachelor's in Media Studies where she was also a teacher's assistant for a year. Later on, Anne-Laure taught English as a second language in an alternative high school for two years. This unique experience led her to continue her education by obtaining, from Alliant International University, both her Master's degree in Education and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential to teach French in public schools.

Since then, Anne-Laure has been teaching English in a French bilingual school  for a year and half where she directly interacted with preschool children all the way up to middle school students. Along with her two colleagues, Anne-Laure noticed that a lot of the students' struggles are directly related to their relationship with school at an early age. Because of this, she decided that a quality preschool is necessary to ensure all students have a successful academic future. Au Clair de Lune was soon created.

Claire was born and raised in Angers (West part of France). Her parents were both professors who passed down to her their passion for teaching. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2007, Claire worked as a special education teacher with special needs students for two years. During those years, she developed and adapted individualized teaching methods for children who needed extra support. In 2012, Claire continued her education and earned a Master’s degree in Education from a French University.

After a year traveling around the world, discovering new places and interacting with different people, Claire settled down in San Diego in 2013. Since 2016, Claire has been teaching as a French preschool teacher in a French American school here in San Diego. Meanwhile, Claire earned her certificate in Early Childhood Education courses. Teaching in an immersion environment was a revelation for her. Even though teaching French to non-French native speakers can be challenging, Claire finds it interesting and enriching to see children learning a new language so fast.

Claire loves using creative and artistic approaches to her curriculum. In her spare time, Claire enjoys hiking with her dogs, camping, gardening and doing craft activities such as scrapbooking.
