Toddler
"Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play, children learn how to learn."
O. Fred Donaldson
Science
At Au Clair de Lune, our Science program for toddlers focuses on sparking curiosity and fostering a love for exploration. Through fun and hands-on activities, children aged 2 will engage with simple experiments, and sensory play to discover the wonders of the world around them. This early introduction to science helps develop critical thinking, observation skills, and a sense of wonder in our young learners.
Technology
Our Technology program for toddlers introduces children to the basics of technology through playful and hands-on activities. Using simple, safe tools like building blocks, mechanical toys, and cause-and-effect games, children will explore the foundations of technology. This approach helps them develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and an understanding of how things work, setting the stage for a lifelong love of learning and innovation.
Engineering
At the earliest stages involves basic building and construction play that helps develop spatial awareness and problem-solving skills. Infants manipulate objects to see how they fit together, while toddlers may begin using blocks to build simple structures. Preschool engineering is more about understanding why structures stand or fall, and kids engage in challenges like building bridges from various materials. By kindergarten, children are tasked with solving more complex problems through building projects, such as creating a stable structure that can hold a specific weight, enhancing their critical thinking and perseverance.
Mathematics
Our Math program at Au Clair de Lune introduces toddlers to basic mathematical concepts through playful and engaging activities. Children will explore counting, shapes, patterns, and measurements using toys, games, and everyday objects. This early exposure to math helps develop their numerical understanding, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in a fun and natural way.
Language
At Au Clair de Lune, our Language program immerses toddlers in a rich French linguistic environment to develop their communication skills. Through storytelling, singing, interactive games, and conversations, children will expand their vocabulary, improve their listening and speaking abilities, and gain a love for language. This early focus on language fosters cognitive development and prepares them for future literacy.
Physical Education
Our Physical Education program promotes the development of gross motor skills and physical well-being in toddlers. Children will engage in activities such as running, jumping, climbing, and playing games that encourage movement and coordination. These activities help build strength, flexibility, and confidence, ensuring that our young learners stay active and healthy while having fun.
